Yes. Beadwork can be worn and appreciated by anyone. The most meaningful way to wear it is by purchasing from authentic Indigenous artists rather than “inspired” or mass-produced designs.

The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 is a U.S. law that protects Indigenous artists by making it illegal to falsely sell or advertise artwork as “Native-made” if it isn’t actually created by an enrolled tribal member or certified Indigenous artist.

If you’re still deciding on a custom piece or already know what you want, just reach out. I’ll sit down with you and help you choose between different patterns, colors, and design options.

Once the design is finalized, I require a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your spot and begin the work. This protects my time and covers materials once the design is finalized and started. The timeframe for custom pieces can range from 1–6 weeks depending on the item and level of detail. Rush orders may be available depending on my schedule, and additional fees may apply.

During the process, I’ll check in every few days to share progress and let you know if any small adjustments are needed to ensure the piece turns out beautifully.

When your piece is complete, the remaining balance is due before shipping.

Avoid heavy pulling, stretching, or friction so the beadwork stays secure and intact. If needed, gently spot clean with a soft, dry cloth. Never machine wash or use harsh chemicals. When not being worn, store out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Belts are an exception; they are extremely durable and built for everyday wear. They do not need to be treated delicately and will hold up to a tough lifestyle, whether worn in a rodeo or on a construction site. One of the first belts I ever made is still holding strong today and is over 10 years old.

Beaded shoes are also very durable. As long as they aren’t being intentionally kicked into sharp objects or subjected to extreme abuse, the beadwork will typically outlast the shoes themselves in most cases.

If you are purchasing a ready-to-ship item, you will receive the exact items shown in the listing photos.

For custom work, I can share mock-ups or examples of past pieces (sometimes in different colors or with slight design variations) so you can get a clear idea of the direction. I also check-in throughout the process so you’ll see exactly how your piece is coming together before it ships.

Each piece is fully handmade and requires a significant amount of time, skill, and detail work. For example:

• Beaded Belt Inlay: 10–15 hours of beadwork

  • Leatherwork starting at $125+. All leatherwork is done by a local leatherworker on the Flathead Indian Reservation.

• Beaded Shoes: 6–12 hours of beadwork

  • Cost of the shoes

• Peyote Stitched Hat Brim: 15–20 hours of beadwork

  • Cost of the hat

I have been beading since 2014 and have mastered several different styles of beadwork, which is reflected in the quality and detail of each piece.

Making money is not what drives me, sharing a skill that I am good at is. I price my work based on materials and a fair minimum wage for my time so that each piece is as accessible as I can make it. Beadwork is a labor of love, and I am grateful to spend my time creating it.
